  Bank to protein. Meat consumption is a major cause in type 2 diabetes not carbs. I know that is a bold statement so hold on. I promised I would not bore you with case study but I have to give you just a little. This epic study (European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition) Is the largest study of its kind, following 521,000 people, their study found that meat and specifically processed meat is significant in the development of diabetes. That in fact fruit and vegetable consumption actually decreases the development of diabetes.

Hypertension  (High blood pressure) Is the number one cause of the two deadliest killers in the United States, heart disease and stroke. However, science has known for a very long time that vegetarians who eat very little meat and vegans, who eat no meat, typically have low blood pressure. All I keep seeing is that movie “Back to the future”  and the famous line “ Hello McFly!” I do notI do not think you need a Harvard education to do the simple math there.

So Now if you’ve found out you have hypertension and your doctor gave you a choice, take this medication to control the hypertension and these other meds to control the horrible side effects of the first medication or just switch to a plant-based diet where all those side effects are the decreased risks of every other major chronic illness including cancer. Which one do you choose?

In the US  1,320,000 people will suffer a heart attack this year and of those 600,000 will die, more than from any other cause. Yet the media would rather talk about the handful of Ebola cases. Why? Lobbyists. No, I am not going to let it go on you but just listen. If the u.s. population learns that Gary and me cause heart disease, then you have two extremely large industries that are going to all but collapse. Therefore, they (meat and dairy associations)Spend Millions on lobbyists and scientific studies that are almost criminally misleading so that you the public still want to buy steak and eggs.

After have written that it almost sounds conspiracy theory to me as well. So let me share this, we do not eat that, we do not eat protein, we eat meat. The saturated fat in the me Rises are cholesterol levels, which leads to heart disease. Again, though this book is about protein and if you simply choose to get your protein from a plant-based diet, you reduce your risk significantly of developing heart disease. In fact, you decrease your odds!

There are many studies suggesting the animal protein and especially processed Meats have a correlation to increase in cancer in order to explain this it becomes very technical and that would go against why I am writing this book. I suggested a book to read a few chapters ago, get it and read it. Garth doesn’t amazing job for those who love the details, the research and learning new words. I promise it will be opening.
